April 2010 Camp Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by the commander and opened with prayer. We had the pledge to the U.S. flag and the salute to the Confederate flag.

The commander gave the membership and financial  reports. There was a general discussion on ideas to raise funds for the camp.

The commander asked the camp to be thinking about giving the man with the boom truck a free 1 year SCV membership ( if he is interested), as a thank you for helping put the flag back up recently. We will decide on this at the may meeting.

It was decided to have our Confederate Memorial Day event on May 8th, starting at 12 noon.

 We will have a clean up day at the monument site, May 1st starting at 6pm.

Also on May 1st, we will have a recruitment booth set up at the monument site. A newspaper article will be put in the local newspaper, encouraging and inviting men to join the SCV. This will start at noon also.

We will make a decision on the Albritton headstone dedication at the next meeting.

Compatriot McDonald told the camp about how the various veterans organizations in the area sponsor the giving of awards to members of the local Jr. ROTC, he will be checking to see if maybe our camp could give an SCV award also.

With no further business the meeting was adjourned with prayer.
