May 2010 Camp Meeting Minutes

  The meeting was called to order by the commander and opened with prayer. We had the pledge to the U.S. flag and the salute to the Confederate flag.

    The commander gave the membership and financial  reports. He also gave a report on the annual division reunion, Commander Doug Dawson was reelected as Florida Division Commander and Jamey Creel continues to be our Brigade Commander.  The commander reminded camp members that in August it will be time to pay camp dues as well as OCR dues.

   Compatriot Taylor will be checking with one of the local schools about the camp doing a living history event. Their was a general discussion on what type of hedges to plant at the monument site, the commander will have some more cost estimates at the next meeting.

   It was decided by the camp to have a clean up day at the monument site the 3rd Thursday of each month.

   The Albritton headstone dedication will be July 17 at 10am.

   Compatriot Lewis passed around a catalog from a company that sells caps at a discount price, hopefully we can purchase some of these to sell as a camp fund raiser.

  With no further business the meeting was adjourned with prayer.

    The next camp meeting will be June 24, 2010
