November 2009 Camp Meeting Minutes

 

 

 

       The meeting was called to order and Chaplin Taylor opened with prayer. We had the pledge to the U.S. flag and the salute to the Confederate flag. Each member gave the name of the Confederate ancestor they represent as an SCV member.

      The membership and financial reports were given by compatriot Wright.

      New business discussed was the upcoming Fiddler Crab Festival at Steinhatchee. Also Chaplin Taylor will be checking to see if we might be able to do a living history event with some of the local schools.

      The camp will be having a camp family banquet on December the 5th at 6pm at the Rosehead cafe in Perry.

      The camp was advised that the float now has lights installed. Compatriot Warf advised he still intends to have a recruiting day at the memorial, but is unsure of the date.

      Compatriot Wright gave a program on his Confederate ancestor, it included a brief outline of the battles and movements of his unit the 38th Alabama Infantry regiment throughout the   war.

       The meeting was closed with prayer by Chaplin Taylor.

       The next regular camp meeting will be  January 28, 2010
